As a certified yoga instructor I have been trained in the Anusara and Bikram Traditions, both forms of Hatha Yoga. While Anusara is a cerebral and spiritual approach that incorporates Tantric philosophy into both a mental and physical practice, Bikram is a more existential and highly structured form of yoga. Both are strenuous and gentle in their own way and represent the balance that many of us seek. I incorporate elements of both styles into the classes I teach. I began my own practice over 20 years ago as a way to reduce stress in my life, and found that yoga provides a variety of benefits. It truly develops and integrates body, mind, and spirit. A consistent yoga practice has helped me to meet all of the physical and mental challenges I face in the course of a day.
Professionally, I am an Organizational Development Consultant and Executive Coach. I have found that yoga and meditation can also benefit some clients in my practice. While it is not a typical form of intervention in the corporate world, it offers people an alternate way to explore their professional potential. |
